The NAR reported a 5.4% decrease in month-over-month sales in June, the fourth decline in a row. However, the Chelan/Douglas market continues to defy the national trend with a robust performance. Single-family home sales in this region saw a substantial increase, up 7% by unit volume and 22% by dollar volume compared to the previous month. In the analysis of the two counties, cash sales of high-end homes were prominent. There was also notable strength in mid-level homes priced above $750K, as 19 homes sold for over $1M and three sold for over $3M.
Moreover, the NAR reported a 5.4% decline in national year-over-year sales. Conversely, the Chelan/Douglas market showed a contrasting trend with a 2% increase in unit sales and a 19% rise in dollar volume compared to the previous year. Once more, it was the cash transactions at the high end of the market that drove these positive results.
